After enduring trials and tribulations of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are finally witnessing the end of this challenging period. President Biden has announced that the Public Health Emergency (PHE) Declaration has been lifted, marking the end of a significant milestone in our collective fight against the virus.

The motor coach industry, which plays a crucial role in providing transportation services for student travel, experienced an unprecedented 82.6% loss of business in 2020. It is anticipated that the motor coach industry will not see a full recovery until 2023. Factors such as lingering travel concerns, reduced travel budgets, and ongoing changes in health and safety protocols continue to impact the industry’s recovery.

(Washington, DC) – Indoor dining in DC set to reopen at 25% capacity on January 22, 2021. It was rescheduled after the extension of the indoor dining ban. Museums and libraries were also ordered to close for indoor visitors under the same December 23 order, and the D.C. Circulator route around the National Mall was also temporarily shuttered. Those closures are also set to expire on Friday. Some museums may not reopen immediately, however: The Smithsonian closed the National Zoo and its museums a month before the December order, and has not set a reopening date.

(Washington, DC) – The District’s reported data for Tuesday, August 11, 2020 includes 63 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 12,959. The District has the ability to contact trace 99.7% of new cases within one day of report.
The District reported no additional COVID-19 related deaths. Fourteen day quarantine order is still in place. Next expected update Aug 24th.

Mayor’s Order 2020-081: Requirement to Self-Quarantine After Non-Essential Travel During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. Reference page D.C. Quarantine Order
Travelers who adhere to a fourteen (14) day quarantine when entering the District from high-risk areas will mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the District and protect the health, safety, and welfare of District residents, and will help return us to a downward trajectory of new cases. Reducing travel and abiding by this self-quarantine requirement will help to prevent a projected surge on our hospital capacity in the coming weeks.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered California’s 40 million residents to stay at home indefinitely in the widest-ranging directive so far of any state as it grapples with a growing novel coronavirus epidemic that has killed 150 people nationwide. According to the latest figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the total number of cases in the U.S. has surpassed 10,000. However, officials believe that due to the small number of tests for the virus so far due to a lack of test kits, the number of infections is thought to be significantly higher.

– Our participant registration system just got better! New tour group members can not only register online via an enhanced screen forms wizard, but they can now sign their registration forms electronically. This saves time, cost and paper. PDF versions of the registration form are also easy to download and/or print. Goto the MYTOUR section of this site and select “Registration Wizard.” Users will need to know the number of their tour before beginning the online registration form. After completion, the registrant will receive an e-mail with login instructions. After login, participants can sign their form as well as perform other online functions. 🙂
Update: [Tuesday, Mar. 02, 2010] Tour group BLOGs are up and running:
– Participants, family, and friends can now goto the MYTOUR section and select “Tour Blogs.” Users will need to know the number and password for their tour. A few weeks prior to their tour, this will be sent out to trip leaders, participants, emergency contacts, and guardians who have supplied an e-mail address during registration. We encourage sharing this information with family and friends so they can see pictures, read happenings, and post comments in real time during the tour. If somehow you didn’t receive the codes, just drop an e-mail to tours@americanedventures.com with a group and participant name and we’ll send it to you right away. 🙂

– The first login functionalities in the MYTOUR section are AVAILABLE for teachers and tour group leaders.
