Virginia
HistoricTriangle      It has been written that the birthing place of American Democracy is well represented in a combination of three Southern Virginia towns. They are located in close proximity and make up what is known as the Historic Triangle.  All three places played a pivotal role in America’s early history, very early history.  Beginning with our first sustained colony (Jamestown), well known from the stories of John Smith and Pocahontas, continuing on a short distance to Virginia’s original capital (Colonial Williamsburg), and then to the site of Revolutionary War’s victorious conclusion (Yorktown).

Approximately 2-3 hours southwest of Washington DC is one of America’s more interesting homes. Besides being our country’s third president, founder of the University of Virginia, an accomplished writer and inventor, Thomas Jefferson was also an excellent designer and built this one of a kind home, Monticello—which he loved.
