Our final morning of touring takes us to the a gift from the Russia people that serves as a memorial to the lives lost on 911. It is called “The TearDrop.” The impressive 100-foot sculpture is lined up with the Statue of Liberty and reminds us of the struggle against terrorism in the world. We Are Blessed to be in NY City During Fleet Week. We Toured the USS WASP. Yes it Can Sting! Firefighter for the USS WASP – U.S. Navy Multipurpose Amphibious Assault Ship 1 of 24 Essex-class Aircraft Carriers Built for WWII Updated With Modern Cruise Missiles. Holding an M4! Unloaded right??!!! M4 Basically Replaces the M16. It can have a rocket launcher attached to it! The Belly of the USS WASP Serious Fellas!!! Our Finest! Thank You for your Service! Miss Southern New York was there! What Will They Say Back Home???!!!! Walking the Brooklyn Bridge Running in Central Park Overlooking Bethesda Fountain in Central Park Oh the People You Meet in New York! We Met a New Friend! Bethesda Fountain Central Park – The bronze, eight-foot statue depicts a female winged angel touching down upon the top of the fountain, where water spouts and cascades into an upper basin and into the surrounding pool. It was the only statue in the park called for in the original design. Beneath her are four four-foot cherubs representing Temperance, Purity, Health, and Peace. Also called the Angel of the Waters, the statue refers to the Gospel of John, Chapter 5 where there is a description of an angel blessing the Pool of Bethesda, giving it healing powers.
