DAY THREE – Tour 112421560, 3-Day West Coast Edventure
Today the group embarked on a tour of California’s gold country- an area where the excitement of the gold discovery is still very much alive. From the weathered buildings of Coloma to the streets of Sacramento, the history of California is intertwined with the story of the Gold Rush. The group got to get their hands right in the trough and experience what it was like to work the old place mining implements (such as the sluice box) in the great quest for that thrilling “Eureka!” moment. As the tour draws to an end, the group will fly home with plenty of tales to tell about their own gold rush...
DAY TWO – Tour 112421560, 3-Day West Coast Edventure
Today the group’s adventures center around California’s Capital city, Sacramento. This beautiful city captures the heart of California, with elements of the old and the new. The group will experience relics of California History, such as Sutter’s Fort, as well as the state’s magnificent Capitol building. Also, let’s not forget the delicious Jelly Belly factory, full of sampling opportunities and fascinating candy facts. Next stop, Gold Country....
DAY ONE – Tour 112421560, 3-Day West Coast Edventure
San Francisco here we come! The fourth grader’s spirits remained high as they waited for their delayed departure to get them UP IN THE AIR! And they did of course, and the schedule got back on track. The harbor boat ride to the infamous Island of Alcatraz was beautiful and comfortable as the excitement built as to “will we ever be able to get back??” (after all, has anyone ever ESCAPED?)
