DAY ONE: Tour 127330969, 4th Grade Sacramento Tour

On the way up through California’s San Joaquin Valley we watched Shrek and Cool Runnings for fun before we began reviewing our Edventure handbooks. We also saw two movies that prepared us for our visit to the State Capitol building. When we arrived at the Capitol grounds, there was no rain and we had a very pleasant outdoor tour of the California Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was beautiful. Shortly after we began our indoor tour of the Capitol, it began to pour rain outside. It was nice to visit Assemblyman Jeff Miller’s office. He could meet with us; however, his staff provided wonderfully personalized certificates that we bringing home with us. UPDATE: 6:50 a.m. – DEPARTURE FROM SCHOOL. Tour is underway. The Red Hill Lutheran School group is awesome! Everyone arrived right on time for an early morning departure. Kids excited and ready for their long awaited trip to begin. But unknown to all, mechanical troubles that morning behind the scenes had drastically delayed the driver’s departure. Mechanical failures (of some sort) on two buses had now required a third bus to be engaged. This difficult situation; however, has not dampened the spirits of the kids. They have been happily playing together as everyone has endured the cool morning air waiting for the coach to...

We drove into New York City to the sounds of Frank Sinatra. After a quick, very quick, too quick dinner at John’s Pizzeria….we headed for ‘the theatre’, where we saw ‘Wicked’! Some of the adults got tearie-eyed, and everyone enjoyed the musical. Next we drove to Times Square for a photo op. This iPhone photo can’t capture the energy and beauty of TS.
